Lavon C. Motley, 91, of Lake Placid, went to be with his Lord on Monday morning December 10, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice in Sebring. He was born in Bushton, IL on August 4, 1921 to parents Inez (Craig) and R.E. Motley. He served his country in the US Air Force both during WWII and Korea. He retired as building maintenance foreman with Eastern Airlines after many years of service then moving to Lake Placid from Hialeah. Mr. Motley was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. Mr. Motley is preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret and son Ralph and he is survived by his loving sons, Richard and Robert Motley; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate Lavon's life will be held 12:00 Noon Friday December 14 with family receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Rev. Jerry McCauley officiating. Burial to follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
