Laurette Russell, 97, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Sunday night June 26, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Russell was born on June 8, 1919 in Key West, FL to parents Catherine and Preston Pinder. Ms. Russell was long time resident of Islamorada where she met her husband Bernard. Ms. Russell has been a resident of Lake Placid since moving here from the Florida Keys. Ms. Russell enjoyed being with her family and going to church. She is survived by her loving daughter Loretta Herring; grandson, Howard Mathews (Missy); 2 great-grandsons, Howard Mathews Jr. (Rebecca) and Cody Mathews and great-great granddaughter, Lily Espino and her dog Precious. A funeral service to celebrate Ms. Russell's life will be held 12 PM, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Branam Funeral Home Homestead, FL. A gathering for family will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at the Palms Woodlawn Cemetery in Naranja.
