IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Gene
Rouse
April 19, 1932 – January 29, 2022
Larry Gene Rouse lived a long, happy life and passed away peacefully in Lake Placid, Florida on January 29, 2022, at the age of 89. He was born April 19th, 1932, to Harry and Alice Rouse. His parents and brother Harold, preceded him in death. He was married to his high school sweetheart, June, for over 57 years until she passed away in 2009. Larry worked as a well driller at the Board of Water & Light for over 30 years, served in the United States Army and was Command Sergeant Major with the National Guard. He loved serving in the military. This was a very special part of his life and one of the reasons he retired near Camp Grayling. He also spent many years as a Boy Scout Leader taking long camping and canoe trips with his four boys and their troops. He was an avid hunter and loved fishing. Larry was known for cracking some incredibly funny jokes. He could lighten up any situation. He had a way of bringing people together and making them smile. He welcomed everyone to the cabin and was known for his amazing breakfasts and malts. He is survived by his four boys, Eric (Pam), Jeff (Jodi), Steve (Heather), and Keith (Mary). He is loved and will be missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. Larry had an amazing ability to fix anything, gave great advice and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. He will be remembered as a terrific dad, loving grandpa, and friend to all and we are so very lucky to have had him as our Dad and Grandpa. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Michigan.
