Larry D. Reese, 68, of Lake Placid, Florida went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, September 26, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born on May 16, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Marilyn (Blosser) and Ivan Reese.  Larry served his country with honors in both the US Navy and the US Army reserve. Larry then served the City of Columbus, Ohio as a police officer, homicide and cold case detective. After retiring, Larry moved to Lake Placid in 2017. Larry was a member of the Heartland Christian Church in Sebring.  Larry enjoyed being out on the water in his boat, a good round of golf, camping, traveling, and loved to cook for his family and friends any time they could get together. Larry is survived by his mother; Marilyn Reese, loving wife of 43 years; Marita, daughters; Dyann (Phillips), Maryjo (Ryther), and Stephanie (Burlingame), brothers; Steve and Greg and twelve grandchildren.  In keeping with Larry's wishes a memorial service will be planned in Columbus Ohio at a future date.
