Kathryn H. Stevens, 82, of Lake Placid went home to be with The Lord on Sunday morning October 20, 2013. She was born on May 29, 1931 in Waycross, GA to parents Susie (Evans) and Robert Hogue. A retired bookkeeper Mrs. Stevens moved to Lake Placid in 1987 from Pembroke Pines, FL. Mrs. Stevens was an active member of the Lake Placid Women of The Moose Lodge 2374, Lake Placid Ladies of The Elks Lodge 2661, Ladies Auxiliary of The American Legion Placid Post 25 and was of the Christian faith. Mrs. Stevens enjoyed crocheting, shuffle board and a good game of bingo and loved spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Stevens is preceded in death by her loving husband Charles and granddaughter, Kimberly. She is survived by her loving children, Nina "Becky" Smith (Richard), Brenda Krissel (Ed) and Charles "Chuck" Stevens Jr.; 9 grandchildren, Heather (Kenny), Chad (Michele), Candice, Courtney, Corinne (Justin) Joey, Catlyn, Josh and Evan; 4 great grandchildren, Emily, Taylor, Kaleb, Braden, twin great grandsons due March 2014; a sister, Peggy Rollins and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday October 24, 2013 (Today) with funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Stevens' life to begin 11:00 AM Friday October 25, 2013 and Women of The Moose Service to follow at the Scott Funeral Home with Rev. Richard A. Norris officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
