Karl A. Gibson, 64, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, June 25 th , 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Karl was born on March 10 th , 1956 in Fort Bragg, California to parents Dorothy (Schnetzler) and Karl G. Gibson. Karl has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 28 years, moving here from California. He was the owner and operator of Southern Grove Hydraulics here in Highlands County before he retired. Karl was very active in the community. He coached baseball when his children were young, and served in the Boy Scouts for over a decade, also serving as the committee chairman with the local troop in Lake Placid. He enjoyed outdoor activities and community service with the scouts. Karl also enjoyed collecting bobble heads and beer steins. He loved to be with his family and friends any time they could get together. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Gibson. Karl is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly; daughter, Meghan; and sons, Garrett and Travis. In keeping with Karl's wishes, services to celebrate his life will be private for his family.
