Joyce M. Campbell, 84, of Oceanside, CA, formerly of Lake Placid, FL went to be with her Lord on September 20, 2014 at the Paradise Care Home in Oceanside. A native Miamian, Joyce was born on July 3, 1930 to parents Georgia (Granger) and Paul W. Merrill. She was a proud graduate of Miami Edison High School and attended reunions for many years. After retiring as an administrative secretary with the Winn Dixie Grocery Stores in Hialeah, where she also resided and raised her children, she and her husband, Fred Campbell, moved to Lake Placid in 1992. When Fred passed away in 2011, Joyce moved to Oceanside to be with her daughter. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Her compassion and generosity flowed out to everyone who knew her and she gave of herself to family, friends, neighbors, and her community. While in Lake Placid, Mrs. Campbell volunteered at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid serving over 3500 volunteer hours there. She enjoyed playing bridge, tennis, gardening around the house, spending time with her family, and beating Fred at ping pong. Joyce was a member of the Community Church of God in Lake Placid. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years George F. Campbell; her sister; Mrs. Barbara Blair, and infant son Merrill Rosier Campbell. She is survived by her loving children; Mark, Bonnie, Clifton, Brenda, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister; Beverly Cox, 2 brothers Paul Merrill and Gary Merrill, and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Mrs. Campbell's life will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Flagler Memorial Park, Miami, FL.
