Joseph James Brown Jr., 45, of Lake Placid , Florida went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, Janua ry 18, 2023 at the Advent Health Orlando Hospital. Joseph was born on December 2, 1977 in Middletown, New York and was the son of Leslie (McAllister) and Joseph James Brown Sr. Joe spent most of his time in New Jer s ey and New York . If you spent enough time a round Joe, he would ta lk about his times at the Jer sey Shore , picking berries with his cousins, and all the fun things N orthern er s do. Joseph served in the United States Army as a Ca v Scout . Knowing Joe, he never did brag about himself , but as his family has loo ked through his belongings, he was a Corporal in the Ar my receiving Ranger tags and many other decorations . After serving in the military, Joseph went to work as a D eportati on O fficer with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement . He started at Krome in Miam i, Flo rida then transferred to Moore Haven, Florida. Joseph has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 14 years, moving here f rom Miami, Florida . He s pent most of his childhood in Tampa, Florida with his mother and Grandpar ent s (James & Vera Gilpin). Joseph lo ve d to coach youth b owling, football & t-ball , he was a huge Dragon Fan. He also loved to bowl and go sal t water fishing . Joseph loved to be with and spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Jessica , daughter; Maverick Brown, sons; Patrick Perez and Michael Brown and a brother; Troy McAllist er. A service to celebrate and reflect on Joseph's life will b e held 11 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. After the service a cele bration, Joe st y le , will be at his hom e in Lake Placid , Florida.
