Joseph Edward Deruytter, 91, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on April 1, 2021 at the Advent Health Sebring Hospital.  Joseph was born on October 25, 1929 in Sioux Falls, SD.  He was the son of Clara (Bergraff) and Serlle Deruytter.  Joseph served his country with honors in the United States Air Force.  He was the retired owner and operator of the Harley-Davison of Fort Lauderdale motorcycle dealership.  After retiring he moved to Lake Placid.  Joseph was of the Catholic faith and a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid.  Joseph enjoyed a good card game especially "Black Jack".  He loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with his grand and great-grandchildren.   Joseph is survived by the love of his life of 67 years Irene, daughter; Colleen Aquilina, son; Michael  Deruytter, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister; Clarese Espe.  Joseph will be laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors by the United States Air Force
