Obituary

John H. Moseley, 88, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. He was born on September 14, 1922 in Dixon, TN to parents John H. Sr., and Mary (Boyte) Moseley, and was raised by his Aunt Hazel Boyte Kern. Mr. Moseley served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was the Southeast Regional Director of the Drug Enforcement Administration, retiring in 1976. He moved to Lake Placid twenty-five years ago from Plantation, FL and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, NARFE, American Legion and AARP. Mr. Moseley loved spending time with his family and enjoyed a good tennis match. John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary, daughters; Mary Ellen Marshall (Bob), Linda Freeston (Gary), Jean Hoover (Bud) and Hazel Matovich (Andy), son; Thomas Moseley (Gladys), 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 12 Noon to 1PM Monday, May 16, 2011 with funeral services celebrating Mr. Moseley's life starting at 1 PM at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Rev. Richard Norris celebrating. Burial will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
