John Robert Kelley Jr., 75, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the AdventHealth Hospital in Sebring. John was born on November 21, 1946 in Kinston, Alabama and was the son of Reba (Creech) and John Robert Kelley Sr. John has been a resident of Highlands County since 1949, moving here from Alabama. He was a retired driver and machine operator in the citrus industry who worked for many of the local groves companies. John was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing the local lakes, hog hunting and other outdoor activities. John loved to be with family and friends when they could get together. He is preceded in death by his wife Sherry and is survived by his loving children; Theresa Beardsley (Troy ), Robert Kelley . In keeping with John's wishes, the family will be celebrating his life privately. He will be buried with his wife Sherry at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
