John "Jack" Hoerner, 76 of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Jack was born o n September 7, 1945 in Buffa lo , New York and was the son of Florence (Bi rd) and Frank Hoerner. Jack served his country with honors in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He has be en a resident of Lake Placid since 2007, moving here from Port Charlotte. Jack was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed working crossword puzzles, attending social event s , a great round of golf, following his beloved Yankees and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jack is survived by many extended family members. A service to celebrate Jack's life will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with military honors provided by the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard.
