John H. "Johnny" Arender, Jr., 73, of Lake Placid formally of Islamorada, FL went to be with his Lord on Sunday afternoon November 4, 2012 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. He was born on February 11, 1939 in NC to parents Hilda (Favors) and John H. Arender, Sr. A resident of Islamorada since 1960 he retired from the Florida Keys Electric Coop after 35 years of employment, moving to Lake Placid in 2001. Johnny enjoyed a good game of poker, golf, fishing and dancing and loved spending time with both family and friends. A member of the Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661 and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Arender is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Martha; 3 daughters, Terrilyn Jones (Don), Tamela Worthington (Truman) and Julianne Jackson (Hugh); son, Jeffery Arender (Sammy); 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; a brother, Don Arender of SC many nieces and nephews and his beloved cats, Sadie and Punky. A service to celebrate Johnny's life will be held 2:00 PM this Wednesday November 7, 2012 at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid, FL with Rev. Jerry McCauley officiating.
