Joe Allen Smith, 69, of Fort Meade went home to be with his Lord on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center.  A native of Fort Meade, Joe was born on February 6, 1951 to parents Joyce (Murphy) Rice and Irrie Smith.  Joe served his country with honor in the Florida Army National Guard.  Joe was an owner and operator of Oversize Load which escorted oversize loads.  Joe was active in the community, his church and having a roll in the Story of Jesus.  Joe was a member of the New Life Church of Wauchula.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved to be with his family and friends anytime they could get together especially his church family.  Joe is survived by his loving children; Kimberlee Smith, Matthew Smith (Evangeline), grandson; Austin, mother; Joyce Rice, sister; Dawn Stark, and four brothers; Randal, Tim, Bill and David.  A service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at a later date.  Military honors will be provided by the Florida Army National Guard.  Words of comfort to the family can be made by visiting www.scottfuneralservices.com .  Arrangements entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home 504 W.
