Joanne E. Delaney, 79, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord Friday morning May 6, 2011 at Florida Hospital Lake Placid. She was born on December 27, 1931 in Washington, DC to parents James B. and Ella (Davis) Everett. Mrs. Delaney was a retired administrator with the Drug Enforcement Agency in Miami. She moved to Lake Placid in 1993 from Miami Lakes. Joanne loved spending time with her family, was an avid Miami Dolphin football fan, enjoyed bingo and fishing. Mrs. Delaney is survived by her loving husband of 50 plus years John, son James Lopez, a sister, 3 step daughters; Linda, Jacqueline and Patricia and numerous grandchildren The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday May 10, 2011 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid and prayer services at 6:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Joanne's life will take place 11AM Wednesday May 11, 2011 at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive Lake Placid with Father Michael Cannon celebrating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
