Joanna (Jody) M. Paoletti, 86 of Lake Placid, FL passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Balmoral Assisted Living in Lake Placid. Jody was born on January 12, 1937 in East Orange, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Helen (Rowe) and James Morelock.

When Jody was young she developed a love for animals when her family moved to a small farm in Millington, NJ. It was here that her passion for horseback riding flourished as she enjoyed riding her horse Sugar. She also loved to dance and sing, having sung in the college chorus while attending Centenary College.

Jody had a strong love for children, having raised six daughters, with her loving husband, Carl Paoletti. Her strongest love was spending time with their 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Jody and Carl moved to Morris, New York in 1985 where she was a successful real estate agent.

In 2009, she and Carl moved to Lake Placid, Florida where she enjoyed swimming, boating and playing with her dogs. Nothing brought Jody more joy than when family came to visit her.  She was a member of the Red Hats Society, the Women of Leisure Lakes as well as a regular volunteer at Advent Health Hospital in Lake Placid.

Following the death of Carl, she spent the last 3 years at Balmoral Assisted Living in Lake Placid. Jody was well respected by the residents and staff there as she was the head Ambassador and President of the Resident Council.

Jody is survived by her six daughters; Kathy Shepherd (Ronnie). Marylou Henriksen (Chris), Donna Jandersit (Bob), Shirley Paoletti (Michael), Becky Schuller (Brian) and Tammy Bowlby (Jay), 9 grandchildren, 4 great- grandchildren, sister, Christina Gilman (Edward), brother, Jeff Morelock (Edith). A service to celebrate Jody's life will be held on July 22, 2023 at the Scott Funeral Home.
