Born Jessie Magdalene Lohr "Boots" August 22, 1926,-left the scene March 31, 2021.  She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, lived in Hialeah and Miami, Florida.  Married to Arthur Dean Essex, Sr. for 56 years and predeceased by him on August 26, 2002.  She leaves two younger sisters; Donna Lohr Hofman (Herb) , Frances Lohr Bo (Kenny).  Boots is also survived by 5 children; Michael Joseph Essex (Terri), Patrick Dean Essex, Peggy Marie Essex-Klammer (George), Arthur Dean Essex, Jr. (Bonnie) and Suzanne Essex-Joffe.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren; David, Elizabeth, Shannon and Jessie, 10 great-grandchildren; Eli, Claire, Emily, Lillian, Leah, Jack, Lexi, James, Eleanor, Carter and a host of nieces and nephews; Donnagene, Herb, Eric, Carrie Lee, Gary and many special friends and neighbors and her beloved canine companion Jett.  Boots was known by all that knew her to enjoy dancing and her love for dogs.  Besides being a devoted and loving wife to her husband, her unconditional love for her family around her.  She will be greatly missed, and Heaven had gained a new bright and shining angel.  A service to celebrate Boots' life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W.
