Jeanette Rose Smith of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday night, October 6, 2024.  She lived a full and beautiful 88 years, and although she endured many hardships, she remained a beacon of strength, grace, and love for her family.

Jeanette was born on October 8, 1935, in Dan, Kentucky and was the daughter of Jewel C. (Haney) and Ollie Jackson.  Jeanette has been a resident of Lake Placid since 1972, moving here from Union City, Indiana.  She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Lake Placid.

Jeanette enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening and caring for her plants around her house.  More than anything, though, she loved taking care of and spending time with her family and friends especially with her grand and great-grandchildren.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her loving sons, Troy and Wendell Smith as well as her loving daughter; Lynette Leonard. She is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Smith, seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Jeanette's life will be held November 2 at 10:00 in the morning at the First Assembly of God, 327 Plumosa Street Lake Placid with Pastors Steve and Michelle Davis celebrating.
