James William Penrod Jr., went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Shands of UF Medical Center in Gainesville. James was the son of Jeanne (McFarland) and James Penrod who was born on June 23, 1972 in Pittsburgh, PA. James served his country with honors in the U.S. Air Force, retiring with 20 years of service as a Tech Sergeant. James moved to Lake Placid in November of 2017 from Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a member of the Community Church of God in Lake Placid. James enjoyed his "Michigan" football, fishing and reading a great book. He enjoyed his many travels around the country and world. James is survived by his children; Ryan Michael Penrod (Andrea) and Shannon Kelly Penrod and his loving mother; Jeanne, grandfather; Cecil McFarland, many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. A service to celebrate James' life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Community Church of God 735 S. Sun n Lakes Blvd., Lake Placid with Rev. Joseph Dehart officiating.
