James E. Lesane "Jimmy", 82, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Friday morning January 4, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring with his wife by his side. Mr. Lesane was born on March 8, 1930 in Raleigh, NC to parents Kathryn (Broughton) and James Lewis Lesane. Mr. Lesane proudly served his country in the US Navy and was graduate of the University of Virginia. An avid sports fan, Jimmy, played football throughout his youth, on into college. Following graduation he played for the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Colts. After retiring as a manufacturer's representative in the clothing industry he and his wife Betty moved to Lake Placid from Sarasota in 2003. Mr. Lesane enjoyed biking, walking on the beach and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. Mr. Lesane is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Betty; son, James E. Lesane, Jr. (Ruthly), two grandchildren, Tripp and Ryn Lesane. A gathering for family and friends will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a service to celebrate Mr. Lesane's life beginning at 2:00 PM Monday January 7, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid 119 E. Royal Palm Street, Lake Placid with Pastors Brett Morey and Mike Ford officiating.
