James L. Irvin, 66 of Lake Placid, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 30,
2025, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. James was a native Floridian who
was born in Sebring on February 25, 1959. He was the son of Dollie (Barnes) and Charles
Irvin Sr. James served his country with honors in the United States Army. He retired with
Bay Systems as a machine operator. James was of the Christian faith who enjoyed fishing
the local lakes and waterways and helping anybody he could. James loved to be with his
family and friends whenever they could get together, especially time with his grand and
great grandchildren. James is survived by his wife, Bobbie, daughters; Jessica, Juanita and
Jennifer, sons; James Jr. and Antonio, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren,
sisters; Gwenda Irvin-Simpson and Debra Irvin, brothers; Charlie Jr., Emmanuel and Alfred Irvin, and close friend; Elisha Walker along with a host of other beloved family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate James's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 6,2025, at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid, FL., with Pastor Jeffrey Johnson officiating. Military honors will be presented by the United States Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
