James W. Embick Sr., 91, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at this home in Lake Placid, Florida. He was born in Elkins, WV on June 6, 1931. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, of 27 years, son s ; James Embick Jr. (Jane) from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and Michael Embick (Kimberly), stepchildren; Mark Davis (Stephanie), James Davis, Cathy Siwierka (Bill) and Lisa Giaimo all from Ravenna, Oh io, brother; Ray Coontz of Garr ettsville, Ohio, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren , nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn and son, Steven, mother; Martha Coontz, two brothers; Gene and Tom Coontz, three sisters; Catherine "Rosie" B a rnhart, Juanita Coontz and Maureen McGraw. Jim proudly served with honors in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952. He moved to Ravenna, Ohio and worked for The White Rubber Company for 30 years, retiring as plant manager in 1991. He was active in church in Ohio for several years and in our Association in Lake June Hills as director and President. Jim loved to fish and golf. He especially liked it when he could beat the younger fellows. He enjoyed planting a vegetable garden and loved flowers. Graveside services to celebrate Jim's life will be held at a later date in Ravenna, Ohio.
