Jack J. Sandlin, 77, passed away Tuesday morning July 19, 2011 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. He was born on October 13, 1933 in Georgetown, IL to parents Vere J. and Goldie (Morris) Sandlin. Mr. Sandlin was a member of the Iron Workers Local 380 in Illinois where he worked for many years and build tall buildings. After retiring, Jack moved to Lake Placid in 1993 from Danville, IL. He enjoyed working around his house building decks for the pool, spending evenings in his pool, vacations at the beach and chatting on the computer and loved being with his family and was of the Christian faith. Mr. Sandlin is preceded in death by a loving son; Michael Sandlin and he is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Sue, daughters; Judy Sandlin and Sandra Sandlin, sons; Jackie J. Sandlin and Mark Sandlin (Becky), step-daughter; Danielle Gilbert, step-sons; David Murdock (Kim) and Donald Murdock, 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, several nieces. A service to celebrate Jack's life will held at a later date.
