Irene Anna Struck, 91, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord on Friday afternoon, December 29, 2023 at her residence. Irene was born on October 2, 1932 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Anna and Frank Gathy. Irene has been a resident of Lake Placid since 1989, moving here from Coral Gables, FL. She was an active member of the St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Episcopal Church in Lake Placid where she served on the alter guild, the Red Hatters, and the Ladies of Lake August lunch group. Irene enjoyed activates in the community, going to church, and painting. She loved to be with her family and friends anytime they could get together, especially time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Irene is preceded in death by her loving husband Heinz and she survived by her loving children; Sharon Arias, Robert (Katherine), John (Christine) , William Struck, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a sister; Margaret Santangelo. A service to celebrate Irene's life will be held at the St. Francis of Assisi Anglican Episcopal Church 43 Lake June Road, Lake Placid with Rev. Dr. Robin A. Reed celebrating TBA. Irene will be laid to rest with her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL
