IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ian Edward
Welsh
August 19, 1976 – April 1, 2025
Ian Edward Welsh, 48, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Lake Placid, Florida. Born on August 19, 1976, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ian was a proud native Floridian and spent his life surrounded by the natural beauty of his home state.
Ian found joy in nature and the outdoors, whether casting a line into still waters, boating across the ocean, or camping beneath star-filled skies. The Peace River and the Ocean held a special place in his heart.
Ian was a cancer survivor and had been cancer-free for over five years—a testament to his resilience and strength.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Kimberly; his father, Jimi; his sister, Rachel; his nephew Corey; nieces Addison and Anna; great-nieces Lilith and Salem; great-nephews Rhyme and Reign; and many friends who became family over the years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucinda, and his sister, Margo.
Known for his loud laughter and sense of humor, Ian brought a special energy and love to those around him. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
Though Ian has left this world, his spirit lives on in the rhythm of the tides and in the whispering pines of Florida's wild places. His memory will endure in shared laughter around campfires and in every peaceful moment spent under open skies. May those who knew him find comfort in the memories of his laughter and love.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ian's memory to a charity of your choosing.
A celebration of life will be held in Lake Placid, FL and Fort Lauderdale, FL at a later date.
