Hugh Fredrick "Fred" Jordan, Jr., 77, of Lake Placid, FL went to be with his Lord on
Saturday morning March 29, 2014 at his residence surround by his loving family. He
was born on December 17, 1936 in Fosters, OH to parents Agnes (Archer) and Hugh F.
Jordan. Fred served his country in the US Navy where he was the Aid to the Commander
of Submarine Forces in New London, CT. He retired from Monarch and Copeland as an
electrical maintenance foreman. Fred became a winter resident in 1995 from Sidney, OH
who enjoyed playing a round of golf and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Fred was active in the Sidney Elks, American Legion and was a Legionnaire with the
Moose Lodge. Fred attended the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Mr. Jordan
is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Carlos Jordan. He
is survived by his loving wife Joan; sons, Chris Jordan (Therese), Mark Jordan, Rocky
Forney and Scott Forney; 3 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Marjorie Schaefer;
brother, Robert Jordan (Karen) and 2 sister-in-laws, Peggy Jordan and Greta Jordan.
A service to celebrate Fred's life will be held at a later date in Sidney, OH.
