Howard Eugene "Beav" Beaver, 84, of Lake Placid, went to be with his Lord and late wife of 57 years Elaine "Dolly" Beaver on Wednesday afternoon February 24, 2010. He was born on February 5, 1926 in Detroit, MI to parents Mary and Ben Beaver. Mr. Beaver served his country in the US Merchant Marines and the US Army during WWII. Howard enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, and coaching little league and also umpired semi-pro baseball. Howard retired from the International Harvester Company in Baltimore after forty years of service, then going to work as a bus driver for the Baltimore School System transporting children with special needs. He moved to Lake Placid in 2003 and continued working as a bus driver and aid with the Highland County School System. Howard was loved and respected by all who knew him. Mr. Beaver is survived by his loving children, Darien and Robert, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. There will be a memorial service 4:00 PM Tuesday March 16, 2010 to celebrate Howard's life at the St Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church 43 Lake June Road, Lake Placid with Pastor Elizabeth Myers celebrating.
