Herbert Curtiss Blackwell, 80, of Lake Placid passed away Friday evening February 19, 2010 at his Rosewood residence. He was born on March 30, 1929 in Miami, FL to parents Susan (Randall) and Charles J. Blackwell, Sr. He moved to Lake Placid 23 years ago from Miami and was a member of the American Legion Placid Post 25, VFW Post 3880, Lake Placid Moose Lodge 2374 and the Lake Placid Church of Christ. He is survived by his loving brothers, Hilbert and Charles Blackwell, Jr. Services celebrating Herbert's life will be held 1:30 PM Monday February 22, 2010 at the Rosewood Senior Care Villas 517 US 27 North Lake Placid with Pastor Mike Ford Celebrating.
