Helen Ogle Salter, 88, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on December 1, 2017 at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1929 in Grant City, IL to parents Mary (Merz) and Kenneth Ogle. Helen was a retired school teacher in the public school system. She moved here 28 years ago from Chicago. Helen enjoyed teaching her students, reading a good novel, spending time at her church. Mrs. Salter loved to be with her family and friends. Helen was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Helen is preceded in death by her loving husband Edwin James Salter Jr. She is survived by her tow daughters, Patricia and Lynn and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive, Lake Placid. Inurnment in St. James Gardens.
