Harry L. Whaley "Bucky" 81, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord Thursday evening January 6, 2011 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. Mr. Whaley was born on February 9, 1929 in Quincy, IL to parents Cornelius and Mary (Ellis) Whaley. Bucky moved to Lake Placid in 1959 from Quincy and went into the citrus grove business, the into the air conditioning business retiring in 2001. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed traveling, fishing and hunting. Mr. Whaley was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid. Mr. Whaley is preceded in death by his son, Michael, sisters; Dorothy Kuhn and BeBe Sinnock. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Wilma, daughter; Connie Hogue, grandchildren; Amanda and Joshua Hogue, sister; Betty McClean and a brother; Kenneth Whaley. The family will receive friends 4-6 PM Monday January 10, 2011 at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid. Funeral Services Celebrating Bucky's life well be held 11:00 AM Tuesday January 12, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid 119 E. Royal Palm Avenue with Rev. Brett Morey celebrating. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
