Grose Henry Bowman, 75, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning August 5, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Keener, Alabama on October 25, 1939 to parents Beulah Odell Sherrill and Robert Bowman. He served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. A resident of Lake Placid for 50 years, Mr. Bowman was a retired dozer operator in the construction industry. Henry was an avid fisherman who could always be found on the local lakes. He loved being with his family and friends. Mr. Bowman is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Idea Hampton, Gertrude Croft, Georgia Fletcher; brothers, Robert Leonard Bowman and Loy Bowman. Mr. Bowman is survived by his loving children, Connie Varble (Mark Cody) and Ricky Bowman (Denise); two granddaughters, Ashley and Angela; one great-granddaughter, Addison; three sisters, Martha "Sis" Marbut, Ethel West and Norma Jean Parker and a brother, Billy Bowman. A service to celebrate Henry's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating
