Gilman L. Levesque, 82, of Lake Placid passed away Tuesday evening January 17, 2012 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. He was born on September 2, 1929 in Portage, Maine to parents John and Helen (Soucy) Levesque. He served his county in the US Army during WWII. A retired crane operator in the rail road industry he was a winter resident since 1997 from Vermont. Mr. Levesque enjoyed playing a good game of cards, shuffleboard, woodworking and making wooden toys for the grandchildren and loved spending time with family and friends. A member of the VFW Post 3880, American Legion Placid Post 25, Lake Placid Moose Lodge 2374, Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661 and was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Levesque is survived by his loving daughters; Michele Staczek (Michael) and Cheryl Mather (Charlie) 2 grandchildren; Cody and Kara 4 sisters; Judy, Lorraine, Beatrice and Jeannie, brother; Richard and sister and brother-in-law; Donna and Bill Knapp. A visitation for family and friends to celebrate Gilman's life was held on Saturday at his residence.
