Geraldine Nealey, 89, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Southern Lifestyles Senior Living Center in Lake Placid.  A native Floridian, Geraldine was born in Wauchula to parents Christopher and Jennie (Wingo) Weed on August 17, 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Eugene Nealey.  She moved to Lake Placid in 2003 from Palatka, Fl.   Before moving to Lake Placid Geraldine could be found on any given Sunday at North Hialeah Baptist Church teaching Sunday school, working with the children in the kindergarten classes, or working with the youth group. After moving to Lake Placid she continued to show her love for children by volunteering in Vacation Bible School.  She enjoyed painting and loved to be with her family and friends especially her church family.  Geraldine is survived by her loving children; Brenda Hippchen (Robert), Michael Nealey (Joyce), Connie Abston, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  A service to celebrate Geraldine's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Faith Baptist Church, 660 Holmes Avenue, Lake Placid with Rev. Bill Cole officiating.  A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services time.  Burial will follow at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Wauchula.
