Georgia Lorie Leeman 87, of Lake Placid Fl., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday morning March 31, 2020 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. Georgia was born on March 13, 1933 in Washington, DC and was the daughter of Dorothy and Daniel Wettig. Georgia and her three siblings were raised on a farm in Michigan. With her father ill, she left school at an early age to work and help raise money for the family. During her lifetime she held many jobs. She most enjoyed working at a doughnut shop. So did her children. She did housekeeping for the elderly for the greater part of her life. She moved to Lake Placid in April 1998 to be near her sisters, Dolores and Helen and their families. Georgia enjoyed bowling, the family pets and music of all origins. Georgia was of the Lutheran Faith. She was a good, supportive mother, a kind person, loyal and trustworthy to her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her loving children, Carol Pingston with husband John, son Robert Leeman, Four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A gathering for family and friends to reflect on Georgia's life will be held at the family residence at a later date.
