George L. Eckblad, 81, of Sebring went to be with his Lord on Thursday evening December 17, 2015 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring. The son of Edith Pugsley and Gust Eckblad, George was born on September 12, 1934 in Superior, WI. A retired truck driver, George moved to Lake Placid from Naples, FL in 2002. George never knew a stranger, he enjoyed talking with people, meeting new friends and spending time at the senior center in Sebring. He loved to be with his friends and family especially any social events. Mr. Eckblad was a member of the Christ Fellowship Church of Sebring. Mr. Eckblad is preceded in death by his loving wife Gladys. He is survived by his loving children, Terry Hawley, Michael, Loren and Robert; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate George's life will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Eugene Haas and Pastor Wesley Olsen officiating.
