George Harry Arndt, 81, of Lake Placid Went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the Advent Health Hospital in Sebring. George was born on May 14, 1939 in Hershey, Pennsylvania and was the son of Margaret Weiland and Bruce Arndt.  George retired from Hershey Foods after 38 ½ years of service as an operator.  He had been a winter resident for eighteen years and living here in Lake Placid full time for the last five years, moving here from Hershey, Pa.  George was an active member at the Church of the Lake Placid Church of The Nazarene where he was a worship leader.  George had a passion for singing and loved to sing old church songs at church.  He enjoyed driving around the different neighborhoods collecting metal to be scraped. He loved to be with his family and friends any time they could get together, especially time with his grand and great grandchildren.  George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joan, sons; Dale (Sue), Keith (Karen), 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sisters; Joyce, Violet and brothers; David and Roger.  A service to celebrate George's life will be held at a later date.
