Fred M. Ward, 86, of Lake Placid went to be with is Lord on Thursday afternoon December 31, 2015 at Tampa General Hospital. Fred was one of ten children born to Sarah (Lowe) and John Ward on February 13, 1929 in Chapmanville, WV. Mr. Ward served his country with honors during Korea in the US Air Force. Fred went to work in the banking business, retiring as Vice President with the Commercial Bank and Trust in Miami. After retiring Fred moved to Lake Placid in 2000 from Sunrise, FL. Fred, over the years, belonged to many service and civic clubs including the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and boating on the lake and loved to be with is family and friends. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Annabelle; sons, Greg and Rick Ward; daughter in law, Anita Rosado; two grandchildren, R.J. Ward and Sara Ward; sister, Freda Spencer; brother, Dorsey Gene Ward and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Fred's life will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at his residence 142 Mandolin Drive, Lake Placid with Pastor Wayne Godwin officiating. Further services and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell
