Fred Schmidt, 82, of Lake Placid, Florida, formerly of Seattle Washington, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Fred was born to parents Fred and Alice Schmidt on October 31st, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Fred graduated from Mariemont Highschool and was a member of the Ohio National Guard. He was a superb salesman and had an extensive career with U.S. Playing Card Company covering ten states in the Western region of the United States, including Alaska.  Fred is survived by his daughter Kathy Hamilton (Chris), longtime companion Marge Judy, and Niece Mara Walburn, as well as grandchildren Sarah Hamilton, Susan Prather, Joe Holtzclaw, and Jason Holtzclaw. Also survived by many great grandchildren including Sidney Coley who was very special to Fred. Fred had many friends and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, travel, unique sense of humor, and above all, his generosity to those who surrounded him. At Fred's request no services will be held. He will be interred at Cincinnati, Ohio alongside his parents and other family members at Vine Street Cemetery.
