Fred Gieler, 86, of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the AdventHealth Sebring Hospital. Fred was born on September 11, 1939, in Berlin, Germany and he was the son of Frieda (Sachs) and Wilhelm Gieler. He has been a resident of the Lake Placid area since 2001, moving here from Ohio. Fred was an electrical engineer with Siemens Group for many years and work in several countries including India and South Africa installing electrical grides. After retiring from Siemens, Fred started his own HVAC company. Fred was a member of the Community Church of God here in Lake Placid and the Lake Placid Moose Lodge. He enjoyed working around the house, and taking care of his yard and he loved to be with his family and friends sharing stories and good times. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, brother, Dieter (Hanelore) Gieler, a niece, Heike (Chris) Ehms and stepson Robert Mathis. In keeping with Fred’s wishes the family will celebrate his life in private.
