Fred M Ethridge, 86, of Lake Placid, FL went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning May 15, 2018 at home, surrounded by Loving family.

He was the son of Mary (Russell) and Richard Ethridge, and was born on December 28, 1931 in Dell AR.

Fred enlisted in the U S Army at the age of 20 years old, and served his time fighting in the Korean War. After his service to his country, Fred started his own company, Ethridge Paint and Body Shop in Kennett, MO. where he worked until retirement.

Fred was a member of The First United Pentecost Church in Kennett for many years and made many friends. He loved meeting the guys at Hardee's every morning for coffee.

Fred has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past four years. He enjoyed working in the yard, playing his guitars, spending time with family and going to church at The Apostolic Lighthouse Church of Lake Placid.

Fred is survived by his loving daughter, Kathy Franks, two grandchildren; Nick (Sharee) Tidwell and Nicole Harmon, two great granddaughters; Whytni and Natali Adams, and a very special niece; Beverly Wallace, who went above and beyond by helping take care of him, all of Florida.
He is also survived by 3 brothers; Ray (Bessie) Ethridge of Florida, Harold Ethridge, Charles (Virginia) Ethridge and one sister, Pauline Baugus all of Michigan, and many, many, special nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by both parents and one sister, Rosie Anglin.

Services will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at a later date.
