Obituary

Franklin Delano Roosevelt Eaton, 84, of Sebring, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, December 3, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Franklin was born on July 31, 1937 in North Conway, New Hampshire and was the son of Doris (Robinson) and William Eaton.  Franklin served his country with honors in the United States Navy serving on the USS Midway and the USS Coral Sea as a Machinist Mate 3 rd Class.  Franklin has been a resident of Highlands County for the past 10 years, moving here from Wauchula and prior to that North Stratford, NH.  Franklin was a retired Journeyman lineman and was an outstanding member of the Local Union #104 IBEW for fifty years, a life time member of the VFW Post #4479 in Raymond, NH.  He was of the Christian faith.  Franklin loved working outdoors and had a passion for growing plants and was known for his bountiful gardens.  He would grow way too many vegetables and give them to everyone. That made him the happiest.  He enjoyed listening to George Jones and Willie Nelson, watching Clint Eastwood movies and nature shows.  He loved to be with his family anytime they could all get together, especially time with his grand and great grandchildren.  Franklin is preceded in death by his loving parents, son; Jason William Eaton, step daughter; Tammy Jean (Simano) Boeske and a grandson; Matthew Douglas Faiella.  He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rosa, daughters; Amy Marie (Eaton) Place, Amber Captolia (Eaton) Brown, sons; Tabor Douglas and Tiler Franklin Eaton,step-daughter, Roxanne (Simano) Phillips, step-son Norman Barry Simano,Jr., George and Chris Hartford,  sisters; Rebecca. Beatrice, Abby and brothers; Grover, Charles and Malcolm, 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.  A service to celebrate Franklin's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 18, 2021at the Church of Nazarene Lake Placid 512 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating.
