Frances Barbaro, of Lake Placid, Florida passed away peacefully, March 18, 2012 in her 94th year surrounded by two of her great nieces, Patricia Woeppel and Kathleen Woeppel, a great -great niece Jennifer Wilson and a great nephew by marriage, Steve Carruthers. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Dominic (Lum) Barbaro in 1980. She is survived by her niece, Catherine Marmuscak and by her nephews, Anthony, Francis and Pius Yorio and by several generations of nieces and nephews. Aunt Fran, as she was affectionately known by Family and Friends, enjoyed life to its fullest. For her 89th birthday she rode a motor cycle and for her 90th birthday she went up in a hot air balloon. She was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion Lodges where she spent many hours playing cards and visiting with friends. A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on April 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Balmoral Assisted Living in Lake Placid. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Corning, New York at a later date in April 2012.
