Florence Ewarda Morgan, 94, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening December 20, 2018 at her residences.  Florence was the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph Mathes who was born on February 26, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky. Florence has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 30 years moving here from Louisville.  She was a clerk with the American Lung Association where she helped in the daily operation of the office. Mrs. Morgan was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid. Florence was known for her passion of making quilts.  She enjoyed sharing that passion with others. Florence loved to be with her family and friends anytime they could get together, either here in Lake Placid or back in Louisville. She especially loved being around her grand and great-grandchildren.  Florence is preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years Richard, daughter; Margaret Childres and son; Jerry David Morgan. She is survived by her loving son; Richard D. Morgan and wife Christie, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Services to celebrate Florence's life will be held later next year in Louisville, KY.
