Evelyn Josephine Haurez, 85, of Lake Placid passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday afternoon, October 28, 2025, at her residence. Evelyn was born on January 11, 1940, in Elwood, Illinois and she was the daughter of Florence (Collins) and Milo Bell. She has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 25 years, moving here from Kingman, Indiana. Evelyn was a retired office manager for the late Juan David Nunez, MD office here in Lake Placid. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening around the house. She loved to be with family and friends when they could get together, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack and grandson Timothy Haurez, and she is survived by her loving children, Kelly (Bill) Barry, Carrie (Wesley) Nohara, and Glenn (Cindy) Haurez, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
