Eugene John Langel, 85, of Delray Beach, FL called by the Lord on Friday, May 15, 2026. Eugene was born on March 8, 1941, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was the son of Estelle (Gezovich) and John Langel. He has been a resident of Delray Beach for many years, moving there from North Miami. He served his country with honors in the United States Army and was the owner and operator of a retail business. Eugene was of the Catholic faith who could be found most Sundays or any day of the week at church celebrating Mass. Eugene was the life of all family gatherings, with his contagious laughter and unique exceptional humor, and spoke with jokes to uplift everyone’s spirits. He enjoyed listening to his classical music and traveling to different parts of the world with his family. Eugene was devoted and loved to be with his wife, family and friends whenever they could get together, along with his wife enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eugene is survived by the love of his life of 60 years, Delma, his children; Codia Carter and her husband Jason, Derick Langel and Desiree “Dessy” Langel, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister Geraldine Waechter and a brother Dennis Carr. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Eugene’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S. Military Trail, Delray Beach, FL. Eugene will be laid to rest 12:30 PM, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the South Florida VA National Cemetery 6501 S. State Road 7 Lake Worth, FL with military honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. There will be a reception following the services, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM, to celebrate both Eugene’s life as well as Delma’s birthday at the High Point 2 Community Center located at 245 High Point Blvd., Delray Beach, FL.
