Eneil Waldemar Pfeifle, 85, of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Eneil was born on October 22, 1938, in Eureka, South Dakota.  He was the son of Christina (Schumacher) and Benjamine Pfeifle.  Eneil served his country with honors in the United States Air Force.  He has been a resident of Lake Placid for the past 10 years, moving here from Orlando.  He was a retired handyman in the building and construction industry.  He was of the Lutheran faith.  Eneil cherished the time spent with his wife Carolyn.  They enjoyed going out on the boat, fishing, going out to eat, attending the Strawberry Festival, visiting friends and family up North and just the everyday comforts of being together.  Eneil also enjoyed time outdoors, hunting and fishing in the local lakes.   Eneil is preceded in death by his loving parents Christina and Benjamine, daughters; Susan Jones and Sandra Bivins, sisters; Olivia Joachim and Lenora Jundt, and brother Reuben Pfeifle.  He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyln, daughter; Lee Ann Wernli (Mark) of Montgomery, Texas, sons; Michael Pfeifle of St. Cloud, and Stephen Pfeifle (Julia) of Orlando; stepdaughter; Jackline Shannon, stepson; Larry Erdman both of Lake Placid, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews that he enjoyed visiting in South Dakota. A funeral service to celebrate Eneil's life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Olckers officiating.  Military honors will be presented by the United States Air Force and the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service times.  A burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
