Emogene Nida McMillian, 83, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Monday morning October 3, 2016 at her residence. She was born on July 29, 1933 to parents Emma (Duty) and Henry F. Nida in Hamlin, West Virginia. She was a school teacher in Lincoln and Kanawha counties in West Virginia for 40 years. The last 30 years were at Malden Elementary in Malden, West Virginia. Emogene was an avid reader who enjoyed a great novel and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid. Emogene is preceded in death by both her parents, brother, James and sisters, Genevieve, Louise, Helen and Mary Joe. Mrs. McMillian is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Robert and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate Emogene's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Faith Baptist Church, 660 Holmes Avenue, Lake Placid with Pastor Howard Leman officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at the Lincoln Memorial Park in Hamlin, W.VA.
