Elsie R. Shockley, 78, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Thursday evening October 10, 2013 at the Lake Placid Health Care Center. She was born on October 1, 1935 in Huntsville, AL to parents Mabel (Smith) and George Foster. Elsie, a retired customer service agent with Kmart moved to Lake Placid in 2004 from Pompano Beach, FL. Mrs. Shockley enjoyed traveling, fishing, being around children and loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 61 years Dean; son: Edward Shockley; four grandchildren and a sister Carolyn McQuiston. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Shockley's life will be held 9:30 AM Tuesday October 15, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Placid 119 E. Royal Palm Street, Lake Placid with Pastor Brett Morey and Pastor Mike Ford officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 PM at the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
