Eileen Patricia Cosgrave, 87, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon September 23, 2012 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. She was born on February 25, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to parents Joseph and Helena (Smyth) Stanton. Mrs. Cosgrave was a retired emergency room secretary for Hialeah Hospital. Mrs. Cosgrave moved to Lake Placid from Pembroke Pines in 1987 and was an active volunteer who enjoyed working with Nu Hope Lake Placid, Florida Hospital Lake Placid and the St. James Gift Shop. A devoted catholic Mrs. Cosgrave was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. Mrs. Cosgrave loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Cosgrave is preceded in death by her loving husband James and is survived by her loving sons, John Patrick Cosgrave (Jackie) and James Joseph Cosgrave, II (Bonnie); 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Mrs. Cosgrave's life will be held 12 Noon Friday September 28, 2012 at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive Lake Placid with Father Luis Albarracin celebrating. Private interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
