Edwin "Wayne" Carrier, age 83, went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2010. Born in Bristol, TN, Wayne moved his family to Miami in 1954. Upon his retirement from the Florida Department of Transportation in 1988, Wayne relocated to Lake Placid, FL in 1989. He leaves behind his loving wife, of 62 years, Huberta Horne Carrier, three children, Becky (Bill) Dye, Tony (Brenda) Carrier, and Kevin (Lynn) Carrier; six grandchildren, Keith (Karen) Dye, Erich (Donna) Dye, Jeff (Karen) Dye, Anthony (Karen) Carrier, Patrick (Michelle) Carrier, and Kellyn Carrier; and five great-grandchildren, Allysah and Landon Dye, Lauren and Caleb Dye, and Grace Carrier. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday February 13, 2010, 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine at 111 Lake Josephine Drive, Sebring, FL. Rev. Kevin Aherns will be presiding over the service with assistance from Rev. Allen Altvater and Rev. Jeffrey Dye. A luncheon will follow the celebration. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local Hope Hospice 4840 Sun N Lake Blvd, Sebring, FL 33872 or to the First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine - Sanctuary Renovation project.
